Stagecoach attack near Blankenburg
The stagecoach attack near Blankenburg was the last attack on a stagecoach in Germany and occurred in 1826 near Blankenburg am Harz .
The stagecoach carried out a money transport in which both coins and paper money were transported. At that time, paper money was still very rare as a means of payment. It was so unknown that the robbers probably hadn't even realized that it was money, left it and only took the coins.
