Power 64

Power64 is shareware - Emulator for the home computer Commodore 64 , which for the Apple Macintosh operating system ( PowerPC or Intel processors) has been developed. The emulator was written by the Austrian Roland Lieger.

With the Power64 emulator it is possible to use old Commodore 64 games and application programs on an Apple computer. Corresponding game ROMs or application programs, files for the emulator that have been converted from the original floppy disks or cassettes are not included in the scope of the emulator.

Developers also have the option of developing new programs that can be saved as a corresponding file on the Apple.

The program emulates the Commodore 64 computer so that all programs run at the same speed as on a real Commodore 64. The emulator supports the languages ​​English, German, Spanish and French.

In contrast to the original Commodore 64, a monitor / debugger ( Smon ) is implemented in the emulator .

In addition to the Power64, there is also a Power20 emulator that emulates the VC20 home computer.

Power 64 only runs on macOS versions that support PPC.

This means that Power 64 will not run on macOS 10.7 and newer.
