Preemption
Preemption (from the English pre-empt for "to precede someone in order to prevent him from doing something"; origin in Latin praeemere "to acquire through the right of first refusal") stands for:
- Preemptive strike , in politics the active prevention of a possibly imminent event
- Preemptive multitasking , in computer science the temporary interruption of the processing of individual processes in favor of others
- Disease prevention , in medicine (as a rarely used substitute word for prevention ) diseases preventive measures
