Preponderance

The term preponderance comes from Latin and means something like overweight or predominance (a dominant power ). The word "preponderance" is often used in connection with a state or nation (verb: preponderate). It is also used in connection with tax calculation, for example when differentiating between business and private assets in partnerships in Switzerland.
