Praia da Rocha

Praia da Rocha

Praia da Rocha (German: Beach of the Rocks) is a bathing beach in the Algarve and a district of Portimão in Portugal . It is located between downtown Portimão and Alvor . The approximately 1.5 km long coastline was created by the sea washing away harder rock from the softer material surrounding it on the 20–30 m high cliff. Numerous hotels, holiday apartments, restaurants and shops have secured the location advantage above the steep edge. However, the coastal shape is still in constant motion here, so that further breaks and boulders are released.
