The Pentacon Praktica super TL is a single-lens reflex camera for the 35mm format , manufactured by the Dresden-based company Pentacon, which at that time was still operating as Kombinat VEB Pentacon Dresden . The camera represents the "middle class" so to speak and is the predecessor of the Praktica super TL2 and the entire LTL series. It was manufactured from approx. 1965 to approx. 1970.

Furnishing

  • TTL exposure metering
  • Horizontal cloth focal plane shutter with exposure times between 1/500 and 1 second, additional setting for bulb (long exposure and flash light)
  • Lens connection: M42x1 thread
  • Film speed adjustable from ASA 8 to ASA 1600
  • Viewfinder: pentaprism with Fresnel - ground glass , in the center of the viewfinder, a micro prism ring is additionally arranged.
  • The exposure metering is displayed via the pointer instrument on the right in the viewfinder
  • Dip and measure buttons separate from the shutter release
  • Flash devices can be connected to two different contacts (long-burning flash bulbs / electronic flash), the synchronization time is 1/30 s.
  • Release lock with display in the viewfinder
  • Power supply for exposure metering: 625 button cell in the underside of the housing. Because the original button cells are no longer produced because of the mercury used in them and the exposure metering does not yet have a bridge circuit like that of the "L series", a special adapter is required today to adjust the voltage when using replacement batteries. Alternatively, you can use special zinc-air batteries that deliver the correct voltage but are short-lived after commissioning.
  • Image counter on the top of the device (resets automatically when the rear panel is opened)
  • knobbed camera cover
  • rectangular connection on the viewfinder for attaching eyepiece accessories

The standard lens was the Meyer Görlitz Domiplan 2.8 / 50mm lens.
