Preobrazhenskoye (Moscow)
Preobrazhenskoe ( Russian Преображенское ) is a historical place in Russia , which today belongs to the capital Moscow .
To the east of the city there was a village called Preobrazhenskoe Selo , which was also the tsar's seat, since the 17th century . In the Preobrazhensky regiment named after this village also served Peter I. Here the Treaty of Preobrazhensky was concluded between Peter the Great and the Polish King August II , which formed an alliance against Sweden under his King Charles XII. was in the Northern War . Tsarina Catherine II had the old palace demolished in 1768 because it was dilapidated and out of fashion.
Today it is a district of the metropolis in the eastern administrative district . There is also the Preobrazhenskoye cemetery of the same name .
