Press impact

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When pressing stroke or pressing ball is called the sport of football simultaneously kicking the ball by two players from different directions of movement.

Press blows occur, for example, when the attacking team comes to the ball through an offensive player who is about to shoot or cross and a defender of the defending team tries to block the offensive player's shooting movement with the same movement. If both players only hit the ball during a press hit, this is compliant with the rules and does not constitute a foul .

Ankle injuries are often the result of press strikes, especially if one of the players pulls back instead of using force. Due to the uncontrolled nature of the press blow and the counteracting forces, the position of the ball cannot then be predicted, which is why a press blow is usually not interpreted by the referee as an intentional pass in the sense of the back pass rule .
