Prussian Philologists Association

The Prussian Philologists' Association was a German umbrella organization for professional associations of philologists .

At the regional level, Philogens joined forces in East Prussia , West Prussia and Berlin in 1872 , and in 1873 in Brandenburg , Pomerania, Silesia and Hesse-Nassau with Waldeck. In 1883 the Saxon Philologists' Association and the Rhenish Provincial Association of academically trained teachers at secondary schools were founded. In 1884 the philologists' associations Schleswig-Holstein, Hanover, Westphalia and Lippe followed, and in 1885 Posen.

On April 2, 1880, the Prussian Delegates' Conference was founded, which all associations joined until 1885. From 1920 the conference was called the Prussian Philologists Association, with its permanent seat in Berlin .
