Primo Levi Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Primo Levi Prize was first awarded on September 10, 2017 as part of the Science Forum Chemistry 2017 by the Society of German Chemists in collaboration with the Società Chimica Italiana . It is reminiscent of the Italian writer and chemist Primo Levi , who was deported to Auschwitz as a Jewish resistance fighter and survived. Levi is considered an important representative of the Holocaust literature. His works are dedicated to the memory of the victims and turn against oblivion. The newly created Primo Levi Prize honors chemists or scientists from chemical-related disciplines who are particularly committed to protecting human rights and thus promoting the dialogue between chemistry and society.
