Primus P22

The Primus Traktorgesellschaft was founded in 1932 by Johannes Köhler in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg . Initially, the company, which was more handcrafted than industrial, concentrated on the development of road tractors with 7 to 22 HP engines from Deutz . In some cases, electric motors were also installed. After working with the tractor manufacturer Stock and selling the Deutz farm tractor , Köhler launched his first own tractor on the market in 1938, the Primus P22 . Due to its characteristics, this represented the archetype of the universal tractor. It had the Deutz diesel engine F2M414 with 22 hp. The extensive cladding and the typical radiator grille shaped the design of the Primus tractors until the company was liquidated in 1967.
