The Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium ( Arabic ملعب الأمير فيصل بن فهد) (Formerly: Malab Reayat Al Shabab in Malaz ملعب رعاية الشباب بالرياض) is a multifunctional stadium in Riyadh , Saudi Arabia . It is mainly used for soccer games and has a capacity of 22,500 seats. The clubs Al-Hilal , al-Nasr and Al-Shabab played their home games here in 1972. In 1987 the opening ceremony of the golf cup took place here. Until the completion of the König-Fahd-Stadion in 1988, the final games of the King Cup were also played in this stadium. In the 2011/12 season of the Saudi Professional League , it was one of the first stadiums in the Kingdom to have electronic ticket control. Some games of the AFC Champions League 2012 took place here.
