Print Production Format

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Print Production Format ( PPF ) is a data format that is intended to enable extensive automation of prepress , printing and postpress . It uses PostScript as the page description language and describes not only the content of the individual print sheets, but an entire work (for example a brochure ). In offset printing, PPF is mainly used to transfer the ink zone presetting. In postpress, there is both the option of setting cutting machines and folding machines. PPF files can contain administrative information on copyright and technical information on special tools in web presses.
