Printing Industries of America (PIA for short) is a US trade association that represents the American printing industry . The Printing Industries of America Association was founded in 1887 by a gathering of delegates from local printing industry associations in Chicago. After moving its headquarters several times between 1902 and 2015, PIA now operates from its offices in Warrendale, Pennsylvania . The association also operates a capital office in Washington DC. In 1999, PIA merged with the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF), an NPO for research and training in the printing industry. Today, PIA represents 6100 member companies in terms of the dissemination of information about the printing industry to the public and political influence.
