The ProPotsdam is a city-owned and asset-holding company group of the Brandenburg state capital Potsdam . In recent years, the group of companies has developed into an integrated real estate group with a wide range of tasks. In addition to the administration and management of the large real estate portfolio, ProPotsdam takes care of the business of the development agency Bornstedter Feld and the redevelopment agency Potsdam, operates the Volkspark Potsdam and the Potsdam Biosphere on behalf of the state capital, and deals with the development of the area on the Krampnitz barracks on behalf of the state capital as well as the development of the airship port with its sports park and the Olympic base and performs service tasks for tourism and cultural marketing in the state capital.

The group of companies currently has 405 employees (as of December 31, 2018). The managing directors are Bert Nicke and Jörn-Michael Westphal. Brigitte Meier has been the chairwoman of the supervisory board since September 4, 2019.

GEWOBA Wohnungsverwaltungsgesellschaft Potsdam GmbH

GEWOBA Wohnungsverwaltungsgesellschaft Potsdam mbH (GEWOBA WVP) is the property management company of ProPotsdam GmbH. With a portfolio of over 17,000 apartments, it manages every fourth apartment in Potsdam, making it the city's largest provider of apartments.

Development agency Potsdam GmbH

In June 2013, the state capital Potsdam decided to develop the former Krampnitz barracks in the north of Potsdam into a residential area and to commission ProPotsdam GmbH to carry out the measure. ProPotsdam GmbH currently holds 90 percent and Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse 10 percent in the company. Since 1993 the redevelopment agency Potsdam has also been active as a redevelopment agency for the city of Werder (Havel).

The redevelopment agency is the trustee of the city within the meaning of §§ 157–159 BauGB and § 167 BauGB (development agency).

In 2009 ProPotsdam founded ProPotsdam Facility Management GmbH. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProPotsdam and provides real estate services of all kinds for ProPotsdam, its subsidiaries and the state capital Potsdam. This also includes the provision of infrastructure services and facility management services for the Drewitz residential area that do not require a permit. She mainly takes care of the minor maintenance in the apartments of ProPotsdam in the electrical, plumbing, painter and carpentry trades.

With the completion of a restructuring at ProPotsdam Facility Management GmbH, as of May 2019, in addition to the management, approx. 10 employees in the minor maintenance trades such as electrical, plumbing, painters, carpenters, four employees in the electrical / electrical revision and one employee each for be active in the area of ​​parking space management and residential care in Drewitz.

In principle, ProPotsdam Facility Management only accepts orders in ProPotsdam GmbH's own buildings, which are managed by GEWOBA. It works exclusively on behalf of ProPotsdam GmbH and GEWOBA. Orders from third parties, even from tenants, will not be accepted. Correspondingly, ProPotsdam Facility Management GmbH is integrated into the trade association of GEWOBA and receives its orders through this.

Luftschiffhafen Potsdam GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of ProPotsdam GmbH, has been operating the Luftschiffhafen sports park since 2008. The area between Zeppelinstrasse and Havel has developed into a sports park in recent years. The key investment in 2012 was the construction of the MBS Arena.

Volkspark Potsdam

The Volkspark was built on the occasion of the Federal Horticultural Show, which took place in Potsdam in 2001. In addition to Potsdam's historic park, the aim was to create a new park as part of the conversion of the former Russian military areas. In the center of the new Bornstedter Feld district, the park should be closely interlinked with the new residential areas and trigger impulses for the rapid urban development of the Bornstedter Feld. After a construction period of almost three years, the park opened for the opening of the Federal Horticultural Show on April 20, 2001. After the Federal Horticultural Show was over, the Potsdam City Council decided to manage the green space.
