Pro domo

“Pro domo” ( for the house ) is a Latin phrase that refers to the title of a speech by Cicero in 57 BC. Goes back. This "Oratio pro domo" (German speech for one's own house ) or de domo sua (German about one's own house ) was held by Cicero in the process in which he tried to get back his house, which was confiscated during his exile. The phrase means “in one's own right” , “for oneself” .

In 1938, the German writer Carl Zuckmayer published an essay with the title Pro domo in Bermann Fischer Verlag in Stockholm , in which he dealt with his own situation as a writer in exile .
