ProfilPASS

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ProfilPASS is a proof of qualification used throughout Germany in the context of professional and further training .

aims

The ProfilPass and the counseling / course concept ( ProfilPASS system ) tailored to it support lifelong learning . In a guided and structured process, your own competencies from all areas of life are determined and documented. The aim is to make people aware of their own skills and informally acquired competencies and to use them for life planning and professional advancement. The ProfilPASS is the first advanced training pass that is used throughout Germany and includes informal learning in addition to school and professional qualifications .

development

The ProfilPASS system was developed as part of a project by the Federal and State Commission for Educational Planning and Research Funding (BLK) on the basis of empirical findings on “Further training passes in Germany” as part of the feasibility study “Further training pass with certification of informal learning”. The subject of the study is, on the one hand, the use of further training passes in different social functional areas and, on the other hand, different approaches to recognizing, assessing and / or recognizing informal learning or informally acquired competences.

Further training passes are usually in the form of job descriptions or event documentation. There is usually no accompanying advice on determining competencies. These findings were key to the development of the ProfilPASS system: With the help of the ProfilPASS folder, skills are determined and documented that have been acquired, for example, during training, in voluntary work , during employment, in leisure time or family activities. Identifying one's own skills and competencies without professional support is limited. The view from the outside also leads to an expanded perception of one's own actions and the associated skills and competencies. The ProfilPASS system therefore includes professional support in the form of advice or a range of seminars.

Advisory centers

The coordination and service point for this accompanying advice and qualification of advisors lies with the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE). A process guided in this way can also reveal previously less conscious skills and competencies. The aim is to get a comprehensive overview of the different skills and competencies. Depending on the biographical situation of the user, this guided process leads to a perspective planning that can develop its benefits for professional development, preparation for (re) entry into working life, professional and personal (re) orientation and future learning projects. There are currently 45 dialogue centers in Germany certified by the German Institute for Adult Education. The task of the dialogue centers is to publicize the ProfilPass system, to form networks, to cooperate with the DIE and to offer qualification courses for people working in counseling.
