The profile seal is a synthetic rubber existing seal , the unwanted material transitions prevented by a lock. In this context, it is used in everyday life to seal windows and doors with their respective frame systems.

It primarily prevents air and moisture from penetrating through the frame system. However, it is currently gaining more and more importance in thermal insulation , since the loss of energy is a critical point. In industry, high-performance profile seals that require a hermetic seal are mainly used , such as in virology .

The seal owes its name to its mostly distinctive cross-sectional profile. The large number of profiles is due to the wide range of frame systems, each profile must be precisely adapted in shape to the frame to ideally seal. It mostly consists of the plastics ADPK, EPDM or TPE , as these are particularly weather-resistant.

application

The profile seal is produced in the form of a hose. In use, it is cut through in profile according to the required length. This section is then worked into a notch inside the frame with the profile first. The seal is connected to the frame without any auxiliary means.
