The Profond pension scheme, with its headquarters in Zurich and Crissier, as well as offices in Biel and St. Gallen, is an independent Swiss pension fund for small and medium-sized companies . As a joint pension scheme, it insures the staff of its affiliated companies under the 2nd pillar .

Profond was founded in 1991 and is organized in the legal form of a foundation . It currently has over 2000 companies with more than 50,000 insured members. The managed plan assets amount to around CHF 8.6 billion (as of July 31, 2019)

Profond pursues a long-term investment strategy and mainly relies on so-called real values, i.e. stocks and real estate. This strategy makes it possible to achieve above-average returns over the long term. In the annual Swiss pension fund comparison in 2019, Profond received the award for the best return on investment over 10 years and for the eleventh time the award for the best interest over 10 years.

Legal bases

The legal basis is formed by the Federal Act on Occupational Old-Age, Survivors 'and Disability Pension Plans , the Federal Act on Freedom of Movement in Occupational Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans and the associated ordinances. The pension fund regulations of the Profond pension fund are also part of the legal basis.

organization

The highest body is the foundation board . This is composed equally of four employer and employee representatives and is elected for a period of four years by the pension committee, which is also composed of equal numbers of employer and employee representatives. The management is responsible for operational management.
