Program shift

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The program shift is an extension of the automatic program for cameras . This function allows manual override of the automatic program. With a normal automatic program, the combination of shutter speed and aperture number is set according to a program defined in the camera electronics, depending on purely technical parameters such as light value and focal length of the lens. The program shift allows the photographer to change this “suggestion” of the camera, i. H. to choose a different time / aperture combination without changing the amount of light that reaches the film or the CCD image converter during exposure .
