Project termination

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Project termination is the premature termination of a project before the project objectives are achieved because it is foreseeable that these cannot be achieved, or at least not within the scope of the time and means provided for the project. The project termination can be the ultimate consequence of the steering committee if a project that has become overly critical no longer appears to be redeveloped or there is no will to redevelop it .

If several contractual partners are involved in a project, a reversal is often initiated, whereby tough negotiations regarding the payment of services already performed by the contractor and the contributory negligence of the client in the termination of the project can be expected. Not infrequently, a project termination also leads to a legal dispute . In this respect - in addition to the abrupt end of work on a task - a project termination often represents a high psychological stress for all project participants.
