The project result is what has been achieved in a project . It should be in line with the project goals, but can also deviate from them if, for example, the project was not successful in all respects. In this respect, the project documentation with the analysis of the points and reasons for deviations from the goals is an important task in the phase of project completion and part of the lessons learned or evaluation .

Economic projects and educational projects

Due to the different objectives and structures of business and educational projects, the type and function of the project results also differ.

In economic projects, the product achieved with the project is of primary interest. Project costing is often used to determine the project result. This is about a profitability analysis of projects. Important key figures are personal and external work, which are determined as monetary values ​​and compared with the project income. With the knowledge that results from this, it is possible to complete similar projects (even) more successfully in the future. During ongoing projects, a TARGET-ACTUAL comparison is often carried out in order to be able to quickly determine whether the project parameters time, costs and quality are still within the (project) framework.

Educational projects are didactically oriented. You work product- and process-oriented to the same extent. This is already anchored in the objectives. It means that the success of the project cannot only be gauged from the visible result, such as a successful magazine, a ready-to-use kayak or a designed school party. The project documentation to be prepared after each project also includes the logging of the exact processes in image, writing and sound, in which the group dynamic processes are recorded and evaluated. It documents the learning processes that took place during the project work and the learning gain gained by the individual. The teaching evaluation serves to ensure the quality of the didactic measures and to reflect on the level of problem management gained by the project participants.
