Procuration

Procuration , v. Latin prō-cūrō , "procure, manage", denotes:

the provisional conclusion of a marriage contract through the mediation of a proxy ( nobility );
the legal act of marriage per procurationem (the partner who was not present was represented by a proxy , usually followed by another (church) wedding of the couple; in order to give the marriage contract pro forma validity , the marriage camp was possibly symbolically paced off)
formerly the right of a bishop to food at the place of his spiritual function; now a corresponding fee ; see. also obligation to host
an order / mandate (right) , an authorization or power of attorney
