The Pukará de Catarpe is an Inca fortress settlement in the Atacama Desert , in northern Chile .

The Pukará is located ten kilometers north of the oasis village of San Pedro de Atacama on a hill on the Río San Pedro in Ayllu Catarpe. It was built in 1510 in the late phase of Tawantinsuyu to effectively integrate the region into the Inca state. There is ample space for public ceremonies and administration in the eastern part of the Pukarás. This includes two fenced-in places and administration buildings. In the western part there are residential complexes with silos for food.

Nearby, about halfway to San Pedro, is the Pukará de Quitor .
