Powder Tower (Linz on the Rhine)

The Powder Tower is a south- western corner tower of the city ​​fortifications of Linz am Rhein . The Powder Tower was built with the rest of the city fortifications between 1302 and 1329. It was used to store gunpowder . The round tower has been preserved to this day, while the nearby Leetor and much of the rest of the city's defenses were demolished in 1861.

The tower stands as a cultural monument under monument protection .
