Punic fidelity

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Punic fidelity (Latin fides Punica or fides Graeca ) is a proverbial term for habitual word fragility.

The term is mentioned for the first time in a text by Livy : " haud negaverim propter non nimis sincere petitam aut exspectatam nuper pacem suspectam esse vobis Punicam fidem" . This is a characterization of Hannibal , "which could not be worse".
