Doll (lifeguard)

Compliant doll

In rescue sports , lifeguarding and water rescue , the doll is a hollow plastic torso without arms or legs that is filled with water. When completely filled, the doll has about the weight and resistance of a large child in the water. The doll is used to simulate the rescue of a person. In order to ensure the same conditions for the competitors in international rescue sports, the doll is standardized according to the " ILSE Competition Rulebook".

Lifeguards pulling dolls

application

The doll is mainly used as a sports device in the pool competitions in rescue sports. When half filled with water, the doll floats on the surface of the water and can be towed with the belt rescuer . If the doll is completely filled with water, it sinks to the bottom in the water. She can then be raised off the bottom and towed through the water by the lifeguard. The doll is not used in open water competitions.
