action

Web series

Jeremy, who calls himself “teh_pwnerer” on the internet, is extremely talented at computer games , but very inexperienced in real life. This manifests itself mainly in the fact that he still lives with his mother and behaves there like a pubescent teenager. All he is interested in is defeating other gamers and making fun of their lack of skills ("pwning noobs"). His dream is to become rich and famous as a professional computer gamer. As a result, he often appears lazy and self-absorbed towards others. His brother Kyle (Geoff Lapaire) wants to become a film producer and therefore decides to capture Jeremy's life as an aspiring “pro gamer” in a documentary.

TV series

The TV series takes place in the Pure Pwnage universe, but is seen by the creators as an alternate reality in which Kyle managed to convince a TV production company of his idea. This explains some inconsistencies between web series and TV series.

Even at the beginning of the TV series, Jeremy is kicked out by his mother and is confronted with the real world even more and more quickly than is the case in the web series.

Movie

The film takes place a few years after the TV series. Jeremy and Doug have given up gambling, taken on regular office jobs, married for tax reasons, and having superficial partners. Jeremy is focused on effectiveness and defines his happiness through material goals. It turns out, however, that Jeremy's effectiveness is only made possible by pills he takes on a regular basis. Doug, longing for the old days, swaps Jeremy's pills for sugar drops, making him realize how little his current life fulfills. As a result, both of them return to the old dream of professional computer gaming.
