PyMusique

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sharpmusique is in Python written computer program which songs from the iTunes Music Store the company Apple can download. The program was first published in March 2005 by Travis Watkins, Cody Brocious and Jon Lech Johansen .

In contrast to the iTunes program provided by Apple, PyMusique saves the songs unencrypted.

Within three days, Apple changed its software and initially prevented access via PyMusique. Shortly thereafter, PyMusique was adjusted so that it worked again.

PyMusique was no longer actively developed shortly after its release , according to Jon Lech Johansen . Instead, efforts focused on further developing SharpMusique. This program and a slightly modified version of PyMusique could be used until the summer of 2006 to purchase songs from the iTunes Music Store. Shortly after iTunes 7 was released, Apple stopped this by making it impossible to access the Music Store with iTunes 5.
