Pyramids of the Plaine Magnien

The pyramids of Plaine Magnien are located on the plain of the same name in Mauritius . There are seven step pyramids made of rubble stones from a regional basalt .

A 2009 article in the local newspaper L'Express Dimanche quoted local historians Guy Rouillard and Yvan Martial as saying the pyramids were built in 1944 when the sugar company Mon-Treasury-My-Desert (MTMD) left the country bought.
