qs-STAT is a statistical software from Q-DAS (part of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence), which is used especially in industrial production for process qualification. It is used to evaluate and continuously improve processes in industrial production. Norms, standards and guidelines provide the necessary orientation.

The requirements and procedures for calculating statistical indicators, such as Cp and Cpk values, are different and are based on norms , standards, association and company guidelines (e.g. BMW, GMPT, Robert Bosch, Volkswagen etc.) or individual procedures . The specifications for calculating the statistics are stored in so-called evaluation strategies. They guarantee comparable results.

Numerous statistical methods are available with which the best-adapted distribution time model can be found automatically and an assignment to the process models according to DIN ISO 22514-2 can be made. Furthermore, a large number of statistical individual value and overview graphics are available to the user for the visual assessment of the processes.

The proof of suitability for machine and process capability can be created with qs-STAT. Furthermore, the processes can be examined for abnormalities using filter and selection criteria. These investigations often allow conclusions to be drawn about significant influences that can result from different machines, batches, nests, testers, tools, temperatures, etc. qs-STAT helps to clearly display and evaluate the influences in order to be able to derive improvement potentials that result in process improvements and process cost savings.

Reports also contain summaries of statistical parameters and graphics in a compact form and in an attractive design. Reports can be saved as PDF documents or sent as e-mail attachments. It is also possible to use them as graphic files in order to easily integrate them into other systems.

Even if qs-STAT is based on the idea of the evaluation strategy, the user has the option of choosing statistical test procedures and individual specifications himself. This is supported by an individual user administration which regulates the authorizations of the users as well as the views and graphic settings.

The software is available in 21 national languages and is distributed and supported worldwide through a network of subsidiaries and partner companies as well as the branches of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.

The data format AQDEF (Advanced Quality Data Exchange Format) has been specified for standardized data exchange between measuring devices and qs-STAT (as well as other Q-DAS software products). When the data format content was defined by an industry working group AQDEF, basic customer requirements were incorporated. This guarantees a representative cross-section of the scope and a uniform interpretation of key fields and their use.

A connection of qs-STAT with SAP QM offers users of both systems a complete solution for joint use. While the implementation of SAP serves to optimize central business processes, Q-DAS provides solutions for the holistic, automated observation and statistical evaluation of measurement and testing processes. For the statistical evaluation of the data, the data is already in the Q-DAS database or it can be transferred to qs-STAT for evaluation from SAP QM using the QM-STI ("Statistical Data Interface").
