Pinch edge

The pinch edge or pinch in internal combustion engines is the smallest distance between the pinch area in the cylinder head and the piston roof when the piston is at top dead center (TDC). The pinch edge is usually located on the outer edge of the cylinder bore on the cylinder wall.
