Quinto (game)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Quinto is a strategy game for one person, the large on a 5x5 game will be played. Backtracking is seen as a problem-solving process .

Game idea

Every field has a two-valued state. These are mostly two colors (for example red and blue). At the beginning of the game all 25 fields are in the same state (all red).

The game consists of changing the state of a field in one move . When a field changes its state (from red to blue or vice versa), the states of the fields adjacent to the left, right, top and bottom are also changed at the same time. If there is no adjacent field at the corresponding edge because the playing field ends there, this is neglected and only the existing adjacent fields are changed. The aim of the game is to change all 25 fields to the other state (color) in as few moves as possible (or as little time as possible). As a variant, you can also play with 4 × 4 fields.
