Sixth fifth chord
In music , the fifth chord is a chord with a third , fifth and sixth sounding above its root or bass note . Depending on the context, it can be interpreted in two ways:
- as the 1st inversion of a seventh chord , with the third forming the root.
- or as a triad with the added sixth, see Sixte ajoutée .
In the cadence , the sixth fifth chord sounds as a subdominant sound that leads to the dominant .
