description

The Qirriang-an-wun is made of hardwood . It is similar to a common Australian boomerang. The difference is the design of the ends. One end is made thin and narrow and serves as a handle. The opposite end is twisted in the longitudinal axis, also made thin and widened. The edges are sharpened. The middle part is slightly curved. The Quirriang-an-wun is used by the Aborigines on the River Murray in the province of Victoria in Australia as a throwing wood, similar to a boomerang, as well as a club.
