quod erat faciendum

In mathematics , an algorithm is traditionally concluded with the Latin phrase quod erat faciendum ( q. E. F. ) ( Dt. What was to be done ; ancient Gr . Ὅπερ ἔδει ποιῆσαι hoper edei poiēsai ). It goes back to the Greek geometers and in particular to Euclid , who ended exemplary geometric constructions in this way .
