The main heroine Rebecca von Mora lives with her 65 year old aunt Betty (own Elisabeth von Mora) and tries to find out something about her past. She is 28 years old and a young, adventurous travel writer.
She came to Betty as a foundling, with a silver amulet. She is very skeptical about magic.
