from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Simple oven that is used for smoking; the actual smoke chamber is separated by a wall

A smokehouse for smoking food is a wood stove-like container of the simplest form: In the lower part there is the combustion chamber in the form of a drawer, in which the lower part is fired. In the upper area of the drawer there is an open box for the sawdust (beech recommended). The fire (barbecue charcoal is also possible) causes the sawdust to glow, which creates intense smoke . In the upper part of the smoker is the actual smokehouse with hanging hooks and a grate. The whole construction should be as airtight as possible; In addition to the adjustable air inlet in the lower drawer (combustion chamber), there is a smokehouse with a chimney that can be closed with a flap. A thermometer (up to 150 ° C) is also screwed into the smokehouse. Its temperature sensors are inside, the display outside.
