Return pumping station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pump-back stations are used, similar to dams, to regulate the amount of water, especially in summer for the production of drinking water. In summer, water can be pumped back to the higher side of a weir here.

The Ruhr has eight such return pumping stations.
