Reserve shelf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The return shelf is a shelf in large libraries in which books that are no longer required are placed.

The background to this is the library's intention to avoid unintentionally misleading books. In most cases, however, there is no obligation to use, but the correct sorting - especially long signatures - requires a high level of concentration. The books collected in this way are regularly sorted again by magazines. Another method is to leave the media at the reading area. These are then collected and given for sorting. Both methods can coexist.
