Traceability
The German word traceability refers to two different terms, depending on the context:
The ability to track the history, use, or location of an object:
- Traceability (production economy) , the traceability of extraction, manufacture, processing, storage, transport, consumption and disposal of products or merchandise
- Traceability (requirements management) , the traceability of requirements over the entire development process
In metrology, the property of a measurement result:
- Traceability (metrology) , according to ISO 9000: 2015 (Definition 3.6.13, Note 2) in the context of metrology: the property of a measurement result to have a relation to a standard (also referred to as equivalent to the word "traceability")
