Preparation mass

With empty weight (also: Empty weight ; Symbol: G Rüst , Dimension: kg ) is referred to in a plane the total weight of the airframe , engine and permanent and additional equipment. By eliminating the additional equipment, the empty mass results . The sum of the set-up mass and payload gives the take-off mass of an aircraft.
