RINCON-1 was a Cubesat built by students at the University of Arizona . It was supposed to be launched into space on July 26, 2006 with a Ukrainian Dnepr rocket. However, due to a technical defect in the rocket's engine, the satellite never reached space.

Components

RINCON-1 consisted of the following components:

  • 6 solar cells
  • an aluminum frame
  • a power board with batteries and a power converter
  • a control board with a microcontroller
  • a communication board should enable 2-way communication

Mission goal

RINCON-1 was equipped with a circuit board developed by RINCON-Research, on which various experiments were attached.
