The RISTOME keyboard layout

The RISTOME keyboard layout is a special arrangement of letters on computer keyboards . It was presented by three students at Jugend forscht 2005 and won the national victory in the “Working World” category. The name "RISTOME" goes back to the names of the developers of this layout: Ri eger, Sto ye and Me nzel.

The RISTOME keyboard layout aims to replace the QWERTZ keyboard layout from the days of the mechanical typewriter in order to increase typing speed, and is thus in line with the Dvorak keyboard layout , which was developed in the 1930s, and the Neo keyboard layout published in 2004 .

Unlike the neo-keyboard mapping the RISTOME keyboard layout subject to an August 2015 utility model protection . Nevertheless, the developers have provided drivers for various operating systems for free download. So far (as of February 2016) the occupancy has not experienced any noteworthy distribution.
