ROPF

The ROPF or Russian Society of Proletarian Photographers was an association of Soviet photographers who sought modern live photojournalism in their work. The association came into being immediately after the establishment of the Soviet Union.

One of the founding members of the ROPF was Max Alpert , who is one of the best-known and most important Soviet representatives of reportage and documentary photography. Other members include Boris Ignatowitsch and Georgi Petrusow .
