Racer is a free cross-platform - racing simulator for Linux , Mac OS and Windows , a OpenGL - Engine uses. Racer attaches great importance to driving physics and can be expanded as required with additional tracks (at least 60 available) and cars (at least 200 available). There is also an editor for creating your own routes. Racer can also be played with other people over the network.
Up to version 0.5.0 the game was published including the source code, but under an open source or free software incompatible license. The source code is no longer publicly available for later versions. The game content is freeware under various licenses.
