Radio Educación (also known as XEEP-AM ) is a Mexican state radio station . It was founded on November 30, 1924 on the initiative of the then Education Minister José Vasconcelos .
Today, Radio Educación is subordinate to the Ministry of Education and is administered by the Conaculta Cultural Council . The state mandate of the station is the dissemination of education, art and culture. The broadcasting center is located in the Colonia Del Valle in Mexico City . The better-known programs include the news program “Pulso” and the discussion event “Entrecruzamientos”, which is broadcast daily between 7 and 8 pm.
The “Fonoteca” audio archive is also connected to the transmitter and is the largest of its kind in Latin America with more than 600,000 audio documents . The archive's permanent exhibition is on Avenida Francisco Sosa in Coyoacán .
