Ramarama (languages)
The Ramarama language family is one of the Tupí languages in South America . There is only one living language that belongs to this family of languages, the Karo language spoken by the Karo . In the years from 1925 to 1955, various ethnologists had assigned this language family to the Karo language, Ntogapíd (or Itogapúk ), Ramarama , Uruku , Urumi and Ytangá . But, as the linguist Nilson Gabas later pointed out, all of these supposedly different languages were one and the same language, Karo. In ethnology , however, the extinct language Urumi is assigned as the second independent language of the Ramarama family.
