Rational Polynomial Coefficient

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rational Polynomial Coefficients ( RPC for short , in German broken rational polynomials ) provide a compact representation of image-to-object geometry. They enable photogrammetric processing without the aid of a physical camera model. Using third-degree polynomials in the numerator and denominator, they contain a total of 80 coefficients.

The satellite operators derive the rational polynomial coefficients (RPC) from the direct sensor orientation (sensor-related RPC).
