Rayleigh (unit)

The Rayleigh ( unit symbol : R ), named after the British physicist Robert Strutt, 4th Baron Rayleigh , is a unit of measure for the intensity of the emission rate of photons of the night sky light (airglow):

The Rayleigh should not be confused with the CGS unit Rayl of the specific acoustic impedance .
